Train 20 Teutonic Knights in Standard or Multiplayer games Unlocks the Villager in Dirndl profile icon. So today I played a game that would have made 2006 me very happy. Teutons are one of the most powerful civilizations in AOE-2, they become very strong and defensive once they enter the Castle Age, because of their special unit Teutonic Knights, strong and powerful guard towers. I just chose random civs and hoped for the best. As for countering them with units, you can try converting them with monks, killing them with massed archers (especially unique units), or you can try the Japanese/Aztecs and use samurai/jaguar warriors (I'm not positive how samurai will fair from a math standpoint but jaguars should work well).
With their increased bulk due to Ironclad, they can support the Teutonic Knights against almost any kind of threat.
